Fiddlers of the Genesee (FOG) is a non-profit corporation devoted to preserving and promoting the tradition of "old-time fiddling" in the Genesee River area of New York State.
The club was founded in September 1991, after being inspired by the Genesee Country Village & Museum’s "Fiddlers’ Fair." Its members have met almost every week since then to enjoy the fellowship of playing old-time fiddle music together. Over the years, FOG has frequently entertained the public with performances of our old-time fiddle music in a variety of settings.
Our weekly FOG fiddle music jams are open to both musicians and those who enjoy listening, of all ages. Most acoustic stringed instruments, (primarily fiddle, guitar, mandolin, banjo, hammered dulcimer and bass) are welcome at the jam sessions. Participation in FOG performances is limited to current members.
